Welcome to my teeny-tiny space on the internet! Let me brag on myself for a little bit (as us mother’s rarely get the chance to do) … My name is Takira, a full-time homemaker. I am assuming you clicked on the “about me” link because you want to know a bit about me? Truth be told, as the days go by, I am discovering more and more about myself! I was born and raised in Florida. I married my college sweetheart, who is now a retired athlete. At the age of thirty, I became a witty mother of three within three years. For some reason, other women would ask me for motherhood advice and that’s how this lovely blog was created! I now am a mother of 5 beautiful little humans that I called my children, on of which is autistic! Shout out to my special needs mothers out there, I see you! Who would have thought that my dream of becoming an engineer would lead me down a different path. I worked so hard for many years to major in Electrical Engineering only to find myself majoring in motherhood. Honestly, that is the best plan God could have written for me.
Suddenly my life became fueled by my passion of building a family away from family. Quickly learning that being a woman of God, wife and mother is no easy task. Things are not as peachy as everyone makes them out to be, but it was not until I became a wife and mother when it became a reality. Being a realist is a strong characteristic of mine, one that I wish everyone would share. Therefore, I am inviting you into my space as I share my journey as a follower, wife, mother, sister, friend and most importantly myself. I believe mindfulness within the household is key to success. With that being said, I enjoy living out my interests in cooking, strength training, arts & crafts, and yoga. Did I mention that I’m a certified yoga instructor? I’ve completed over 500 hours of training. While doing so, I found my yoga niche and went on to complete an additional 95 hours of training to teach yoga to children with special needs. Tag along as I share my motherhood knowledge with you! Keep smiling … Until next time!
